Cannabis Stores Re-opened in Ontario
Delivery and Click-and-Collect Options Now Available
The Ontario government agreed with retailers concerned about a growing black market. Cannabis stores re-opened in Ontario with delievery and click-and-collect options. The physical stores will remain closed.
Over the weekend, the Ontario government deemed cannabis shops “non-essential” – they closed Sunday. Unlike hardware stores, which saw the same action, cannabis stores were not allowed to offer delivery and curbside pickup options.
However, all employees including delivery service will need CannSell certification.
“We want to make sure that the private operator stores are able to still provide product to the legal market,” said Ontario attorney general Doug Downey. “This product won’t get into the hands of kids.”
Cannabis stores re-opened for 14 days under a special measures bill, which passed on Tuesday. Government has the option to extend them.
