Seizures of contraband and unauthorized items at Collins Bay Institution

On July 13 and July 20, 2025, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, packages containing contraband and unauthorized items were seized at Collins Bay Institution, a multi-level security federal institution. The items seized included marijuana, tobacco, “shatter” (cannabis concentrate), hashish, edged weapons, rolling papers, as well as cell phones and cell phone accessories. The total estimated institutional value of these seizures is approximately $133,270. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions.
